Career Details

Lyndal is an experienced leader and Human Resource (HR) professional with a 30 year plus history within local government and the Australian Public Service. Lyndal has most recently worked in a senior executive role as the Human Resources Manager at Whitsunday Regional Council where she reported directly to the CEO and worked as a key member of the senior leadership team. Prior to this, Lyndal worked for many years across various senior HR leadership roles for Brisbane City Council, delivering a full range of HR services and programs.

Lyndal has a demonstrated history of managing and leading large teams to meet business objectives and professional goals, leading and engaging diverse, complex, and varied teams towards targets and operational excellence. She has delivered a range of HR policies,  developed, and implemented HR Strategies and undertaken workforce planning, change management and learning and development plans. She has extensive experience in achieving efficiencies and improving HR-related business processes through transforming HR processes, centralising services and implementing major systems upgrades.

Recruitment and Selection, Shortlisting, Scribing

Lyndal has extensive experience in recruitment and selection at all levels from entry level to executive recruitment across professional, technical and administrative roles. She is an experienced Delegate, Chair and panel member as well as providing advice and scribing for selection processes up to senior executive level.

At the Brisbane City Council, she established and led a centralised Recruitment Centre, leading a team of recruiters who delivered recruitment and selection services for the organisation. Lyndal has implemented several recruitment and talent management systems and is experienced in process improvement, enhancing processes to gain efficiencies in recruitment.

She believes in working closely with hiring managers and panels in selecting people who best fit the position, undertaking a thorough assessment process whilst providing candidate care and respect throughout the selection process.

Organisational Design and Change Management

Lyndal has undertaken numerous organisation design projects including major structural change, systems design and implementation including major projects in delivering an ERP, establishing a shared services function, and self-service HR processes for managers and employees.

This required a range of change management, communication and cultural change process and tools to ensure lasting change and benefits realisation. She has also led teams of learning and development professionals in delivering training across all levels from entry level trainee and apprentice training, induction, safety and vocational training to leadership and capability development. Lyndal has frequently advised on role and structure design and developed contemporary position descriptions.

Employee Relations

Lyndal has developed an exceptional ability to communicate clearly and articulately and explain complex HR-related issues succinctly to a wide-range of audiences. She has facilitated Certified Agreement negotiations and managed employee relations matters, including performance management and discipline, workplace investigations, and code of conduct review ensuring consultation and feedback mechanisms for employees. Lyndal has managed a workplace health and safety team, introduced a behavioural safety culture and training, and improved the rehabilitation of injured and ill workers.

HR Strategy, Planning and Policy

Lyndal has been responsible for delivery and administration of a range of strategies, plans and polices examples include strategic workforce plan, Equity and Diversity Policy, Drug and Alcohol Policies, change management plans, Covid 19 policy and learning and development plans. She has delivered regular reviews of HR policies ensuring they are fit for purpose and responsive to requirements and up to date with legislation and undertakes monitoring and evaluation of plans and strategies.
