Career Details

Louise is an experienced leader with a career in Queensland government spanning more than 35 years. She has undertaken a range of frontline and corporate roles – including at executive level – in government departments, central agencies and statutory authorities, and for many years has been a member of Senior and Executive Leadership Teams.

Louise has extensive experience in strategic human resources, leadership development, the development and implementation of competency frameworks, performance management, recruitment and selection, and workshop facilitation. She spent five years with the Queensland Public Service Commission leading the development and delivery of whole of government initiatives to build sector wide capability.

Louise is experienced in working with stakeholders to design and deliver complex strategies and initiatives to align with government and agency objectives. She is known for building relationships, connecting people and ideas, creating a culture of success and getting results.

Recruitment and Selection, Shortlisting, Scribing

Throughout Louise’s career she has been involved in recruitment and selection processes from entry level through to executive roles. She has experience as a panel chair, panel member and as the delegate. Louise has also been responsible for improving recruitment and selection policies and procedures in various organisations. Louise sets and achieves very high standards in the areas of job application assessments, interviews and other selection techniques, and selection documentation. She is committed to selecting the right person for the right role to ensure ongoing success for the individual and the organisation.

Learning and Development

Louise has extensive experience in designing and delivering learning and development strategies within an agency context and at whole of government level. Leadership development for leaders at all levels is a particular strength. She has been involved with the development of both leadership competency frameworks and professional standards frameworks.

While at the Queensland Public Service Commission, Louise led the development of the sector wide framework Leadership Competencies for Queensland.  She has developed and implemented performance management strategies with a view to improving individual and organisational performance and fostering cultural change and employee engagement. With her strong education background, Louise is highly skilled in delivering training programs across a range of different areas.


Louise is an experienced facilitator, having facilitated workshops with large and small groups for the purposes of business process improvement, stakeholder engagement and consultation, strategy development and change management. Her inclusive style maximises participation and ensures diversity of thought. She is committed to using a range of facilitation tools to suit different audiences and achieve the intended outcome.
