For many organisations, tight resourcing, significant organisational change and instability are the norm rather than the exception. At this time in Queensland, numerous government, corporate and not-for-profit organisations are refocusing, streamlining structures and downsizing.
Designed for practicing managers or for specialists who are supporting managers to manage change impacts, this brief session provides tools and approaches which enable managers and team leaders to assist their staff to deal constructively with uncertainty and maintain productivity during significant organisational change. We apply both research findings and learnings from past organisational change to assist you to position your team to thrive in these challenging circumstances.
In the first session, Keeping Teams Productive Through Change, we looked at how individuals experience change, and new insights now available through the recent research findings in the area of neuroscience. In particular, we explored individual experiences of change and loss, and discussed a range of ideas of how to productively manage our own reactions and those around us.
This second instalment will focus on the impact of change for our teams and work culture:
• Exploring how teams experience change,
• The role of the manager during major organisational change, and
• Managing cynicism and negativity associated with constant change
For those who did not attend the first session, we will briefly recap some of this material at the beginning of the session.
