Career Details:

Suzanne joined Merit Solutions in 2004 and has been working as an independent Human 
Resource Management consultant since 2000.  Prior to this she had over 20 years experience in 
the Commonwealth Public Service where she held management or advisory positions in Human 
Resource Management in a number of Commonwealth Government Departments, notably the 
Department of Employment, Education, and Training, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander 
Commission and the Department of Finance and Administration.  These roles saw her managing 
the full range of HRM activities, including oversighting major organisational change processes in 
performance management and organisational redesign.  Suzanne currently also works as a 
Regional Adviser for the Australian Public Service Commission.

Specialised Selection Skills:

As a consultant since 2000, Suzanne has specialised in selection training, advice and 
assistance.  
She has conducted numerous independent selection exercises for Commonwealth Departments 
and has convened several large state-wide selections.  Suzanne regularly conducts a two-day 
Selections Training course on behalf of the Australian Public Service Commission.  Her prior roles 
in the Commonwealth Government saw here performing the role of delegate in numerous 
selection exercises.

Other Achievements:

Suzanne has extensive experience in Workplace Health and Safety as a trainer and 
Rehabilitation Case Manager.  Some of Suzanne’s other achievements include managing the 
creation, recruitment, and operations of a Personnel and Recruitment Section.  She also 
oversighted the development of a tailored training selections training program for the Aboriginal 
and Torres Strait Islander Commission and has facilitated a number of Business Planning 
conferences.  She has successfully managed staff through redundancy processes in a number of 
organisations and has undertaken reviews of organisational structures, resources, and programs.
