Career Details: 

Ann joined Merit Solutions as a Consultant in 2002 after a 25 year career working for a range of 
public and private organizations.  Recently, Ann was a Human Resources Consultant in the 
Philippines in partnership with Australian Volunteers International.  Prior to this, she developed a 
career in human resource management over twenty years as a manager and adviser and, since 
1999, as an external consultant.  She has also led administrative teams and a workplace health 
and safety internal consultancy. 

Specialised selection skills:

Ann has extensive experience in recruitment and selection in the state government and local 
government sectors – supporting panels either as scribe or panel member.   She also has 
expertise in synthesizing and documenting workshop and focus group outputs – capturing the 
essence of a group’s discussions and decisions so that they may be productively used further by 
the organization.   In her HR management roles she has also provided strategic advice to line 
managers on issues such as career transitions and development, performance management and 
HR policies.  

Other achievements:

Ann’s experience also covers career transition coaching and counseling, designing and delivering 
training and development activities, implementing performance management systems, and 
facilitating team operational reviews and planning activities.  She has worked as a Human 
Resources consultant in a developing country in Asia for 2 years under Australian Volunteers 
International and is able to successfully adapt to effectively work with different cultural groups.
