Career Details:

Wendy commenced work as a Consultant with Merit Solutions in 2001.  She has 20 years 
experience in human resource management. Prior to joining Merit Solutions she was employed 
as the Pay Processing Manager for Centrelink in Queensland and spent several years as their 
Human Resource Manager.  Wendy has worked in a variety of senior HR roles such as EEO co-
ordinator and Work Environment Manager.  She also worked as the Senior Training Administrator 
for the Institute of Housing in London.

Specialised Selection Skills:

Wendy has worked extensively as an independent panel member and scribe on selection 
exercises in the Commonwealth Government, State Government and Brisbane City Council.  She 
has managed recruitment and selection functions, including advising on policy in these areas.  
Wendy has experience in large selection exercises and has been a member of Promotion Appeal 
Committees reviewing selection decisions and practices.  Wendy has a strong background in 
grievance and equity issues and is well versed in public sector recruitment and selection 
legislation and practice.

Customised Reporting Skills:

Wendy has worked in recent years providing high quality reporting services to various State 
Government Conferences, Local Government Committees and Executive Boards.  This work has 
ranged from summarising the input and ideas arising from workshops and conferences through 
to synthesising diverse commentary into realistic action plans.   

Other Achievements:

Wendy has skills in mediation and dispute resolution and played a key role in the restructuring 
of regional HR services in several government departments.  She has designed and delivered 
many HR training sessions.
